NGOs play an active and crucial role throughout the world, and often require translation services. CG Traduction & Interprétation sponsors Traducteurs Sans Frontières/Translators Without Borders (TSF/TWB), working closely with them to provide professional translation services free of charge. This means that the NGOs can channel the money saved into consolidating and developing the humanitarian aid they provide.

NGOs are crying out for translators

NGOs working throughout the world often require translations to overcome language barriers, especially in the medical, logistics and legal fields. Such translations require an in-depth understanding of content and the key issues at stake, which only specialised professional translators can offer.

Translation plays a crucial role in organising the various NGOs during emergency situations requiring the resources and actions taken to be coordinated effectively between the NGOs and the people affected by a conflict, epidemic or natural disaster. Translation is also key to overcoming language barriers and providing often life-saving information to people in distress.

Thanks to TWB, NGOs can channel what financial resources they have available into developing their humanitarian actions.

TWB helps NGOs to focus on what matters

TWB aims to provide a volunteer translation service to NGOs so that they can concentrate all of their efforts on helping people in need. NGOs benefit from services provided by a network of qualified translators which means that the money saved can be invested in projects on the ground.

Translators Without Borders (TWB) was founded in Paris by Lori Thicke in 1993. It originally set out to help Médecins sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders) before offering its services to other NGOs and associations. Today, TWB provides much needed assistance to organisations including Médecins du Monde, AIDES, FIDH, Handicap International, Secours Populaire and the International Alliance of Independent Publishers.

Translators Without Borders recently began operating out of the United States, providing even greater coverage.

Translators Without Borders continues to expand and develop, as it provides NGOs with volunteer translation services, completely independent of any political agenda, once it has studied their project.

CG joins forces with TWB

CG Traduction & Interprétation advocates translation and interpreting by working closely with the CNET and EUATC, in particular. CG Traduction & Interprétation is acting in a socially responsible way by supporting and sponsoring Translators without Borders.

Indeed, the founder and director of CG Traduction & Interprétation, Catherine Granell, has always understood the importance of humanitarian aid. She has contributed to several causes which she cares about. It seemed like a logical step, then, to put her expertise and values to good use by working alongside Translators Without Borders.

CG Traduction & Interprétation is proud of being a Silver Sponsor of Traducteurs sans Frontières/Translators Without Borders and supporting such a noble cause which is often crucial for NGOs to carry out their work.
